Luxury Cars are Still Selling
The daily economic news from Europe, the U.S., and around the world might be a cause for seriously painful heartburn, but the good word for at least some of us is that luxury auto sales are chugging along quite strongly. In fact, a number of sources have reported that worldwide sales for BMW in October 2011 were up by 8.3 percent over the prior year. That’s obviously not only rather amazing news for the company itself, widely considered the world’s largest luxury auto maker, it’s the kind of good business news that spreads the joy around. The sales increase was largely driven by the BMW 6 series and the 7 Series line of limousines. Strong international sales have also been reported by luxury automakers Audi, Jaguar-Land Rover, and Mercedes-Benz.
